Requirements For Employment
- High school education or GED
- Valid drivers license and insurable driving record
- Ability to follow workplace safety rules and procedures
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week and overtime as necessary
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighting up to 60 pounds
- Ability to walk, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and work in stationary positions for periods of time.
- Normal or corrected vision is necessary to read, examine components, and distinguish colors
- Ability to work at elevated heights
About The Apprenticeship program
As a sponsored apprentice at Van Brocklin Electric you will be enrolled in ABC’s 5 year long apprenticeship program where you learn to Install, maintain and troubleshoot electrical components and wiring for a variety of systems, from overall power systems and lighting to systems that operate machinery; use logical thinking and math skills to interpret prints and accurately calculate electrical systems; operate a variety of tools and use the National Electrical Code to comply with safety requirements.
Looking To Get In To The Apprenticeship Program?
A few of the requirements for the apprenticeship program are listed below.
A copy of your driver’s license or letter verifying transportation means to get to work and school.
- Transcripts with graduation date listed, or
- Copy of high school diploma, or
- GED/HSED certificate, or
- Graduating senior: verification that you are on track to graduate, or
- Homeschool PI – 1206 form verification for each year completed
- High school or middle school transcript showing one consecutive year of pre-college (high school) algebra with a minimum grade of a “C” for both semesters. Some high schools have different names for their classes, so if you took a class by a different name, but it covered algebra, please send a course description or verification from your high school that the course covered the algebra topics listed below with your application
- Verification (transcript or class completion verification) of one semester of an eligible algebra course at the college level with a “C” or better grade. The class can either be credited or non-credited.
- Home schooled students applying for these trades must show verification of algebra in home school classes and take the algebra portion of the Accuplacer and submit verification of a minimum score of 33 for Classic Accuplacer or 216 for Next Generation Accuplacer
- Test results from the (Accuplacer or ACT)
